Breakfast Forum: From Recommendations to Results - Oregon’s Path to Prosperity

Thursday, September 10, 2026 (8:30 AM - 10:00 AM) (PDT)

Description

Oregon’s economy is at an inflection point. Slower job growth, changing demographics, rising costs, and increasing competition for businesses, workers, and investment have raised fundamental questions about the state’s economic competitiveness and its ability to generate broadly shared prosperity.

In response, Governor Tina Kotek convened the Oregon Prosperity Council to take a comprehensive look at the state’s economic conditions and identify the policies, investments, and structural changes needed to strengthen Oregon’s economy. After months of analysis and engagement, the Council released a set of recommendations aimed at improving competitiveness and creating the conditions for long-term economic growth.

This Breakfast Forum will take a closer look at what the Council found and what its recommendations could mean for Oregon’s economic future. We’ll begin with an overview of the Council’s findings and proposed path forward, followed by a reaction panel featuring leaders from across the region who will explore where the recommendations hit the mark, where additional work may be needed, and what it will take to turn a statewide economic strategy into meaningful action.

At a moment when Oregon is making consequential choices about its economic future, the conversation will ask a central question: what will it take to put the state on a stronger trajectory for growth, investment, and shared prosperity?
