West Coast Swing is a couple dance from the family of swing dances. As the name implies, the dance originated on the West Coast of the United States. West Coast Swing is often danced to disco, modern pop music and hip hop music (but of course to swing music). Keeping rhythm and concepts similar connection to the Lindy Hop, this dance has evolved with contemporary musical trends. This style is characterized by slower tempos and the disappearance of the “bounce” used in most other swing dances.
